MUSIC NEWS - Rockers " Chickenfoot " were named 2009's 'Best New Band' by Classic Rock Magazine at the UK publication's annual awards ceremony that was hled at London's Park Lane Hotel. Thouhg the band was unable to attend the ceremony, they recorded a personalized video acceptance speech which played out to rapturous applause. I must admit I stumbled upon this by visiting Joe Satriani’s Web Site and seeing the graphic for Chickenfoot. Huh - what the hey??? Chicken foot??? The link said CLiCK HERE to VISIT CHICKENFOOT.US and had the names Joe Satriani, Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony and Chad Smith … hmmm… them there are some Van Halen band names and Chad Smith turns out to be the drummer from Red Hot Chili Peppers. LONDON (Reuters) - Some of the biggest names in rock have banded together to form a new supergroup. They call it Chickenfoot, a name they readily admit is "silly." While the name may not be to everyone's taste, Van Halen veterans Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and virtuoso guitarist Joe Satriani rose high in the U.S. charts with their eponymous debut album this month.
