Metroid's Samus Aran figma and figure up for pre-order!!

By Destructoid on  From tomopop.com
Ok, I'm not going to lie. I may not be any good at the Metroid games, you know, like, at all, but I still just absolutely love Samus Aran. When I was little, it was nice to have an awesome blonde girl, who was not only a freaking tough bounty hunter, but also adept and skilled in battle, and wasn't portrayed as an idiot. As a fellow blonde, it was often tough to find a character like that that doesn't have some type of dumb stereotype. Jump to today, where now we can get our pre-orders in...Read Full Story

Metroid II: Return of Samus Review

By serenity81 on  From arzaaq.com
ign.com - Metroid II isn't what Metroid is any more. In the 20 years since this second installment in the series shipped, Samus Aran's adventures have become much more focused and guided. Map screens, position-orienting beacons and other navigational aids have moved the franchise away from the open and unassisted exploration that defined early efforts like this one -- and that makes Return of Samus all the more shocking to return to. Metroid II is bleak. Lonesome. And really hard to follow...Read Full Story

Samus Aran Artwork Made From the Blood of Your Childhood Memories

By capncornflake on  From zeldainformer.com
In actuality, no video game cartridges were harmed in the creation of this artwork, since all the cartridges used were defective. This piece of Metroid fan art, depicting video gaming's leading lady, Samus Aran, was originally commissioned for the JJGames, who currently has this up on eBay. That's right, you can buy this thing. This "life size" piece has Samus standing at 5 feet 6 inches (165cm). The canvas itself is 66cm wide (5.5 feet) and 48cm tall (4 feet). It's huge; no wonder the...Read Full Story
