      The U.S. Coast Guard and Navy were searching for as many as nine people off the Southern California coast following a collision between a Coast Guard plane and a Marine Corps helicopter, officials said. A pilot reported seeing a fireball in the vicinity of the suspected crash site, Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said. A small civilian aircraft crashed Friday off the Southern California coast. According to the San Diego Union Tribune , officials had not been able to identify the aircraft or anyone on board as of last night. The U.S Coast Guard located floating debris and an oil slick in the ocean yesterday and was searching for survivors after the plane went down 30 miles off Oceanside.
