SAN DIEGO -- Border Patrol agents searching an underground drainage channel in the Tijuana River Valley Wednesday found a badly injured man who may have been left for dead by a group of fellow illegal immigrants. Man dies after cigarette starts fire in his home 2:00 a.m. March 19, 2009 SAN DIEGO: One man was killed yesterday morning when a fire sparked by a cigarette gutted the interior of his San Carlos home, firefighters said. The victim was the sole occupant of the bungalow on Spruce Lake Avenue, south of Jackson Drive, said battalion chief John Fisher of the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department. SAN DIEGO: San Diego Fire Chief Tracy Jarman was named Fire Chief of the Year by the California Fire Chiefs Association , a decision that was announced Monday night in Riverside at the group's annual meeting. SignOnSanDiego reports that 4 firefighters have been injured in the major wildfire outside of San Diego, CA. One death has also been confirmed.
