Gavin Newsom likes to present himself as a cutting-edge kind of guy, particularly when it comes to high-tech gadgetry and whatever social media fad is the flavor of the month. He even delivered his last State of the City address exclusively via YouTube, and he routinely jets around with the Google guys on their private jet. Gavin Newsom checks out the latest in digitial camera technology at a recent mayoral event. Unfortunately, like pretty much everything Gavin Newsom does, his high-tech posturing is all puffery, devoid of any meaningful substance, nothing more than a show for anybody who might be watching him. The fact ... Read Full Story

It was home during my fag hag phase. Some of my best friends still live in the city. There is the bay, the bridge, the fog—and the fact that no one looks twice when a guy in a batman suit jumps ... Andy Warhol Live at the DeYoung. I Saw It. Hey what’s up. I got back last night from my rad trip to San Francisco , where I had the time of my life nonstop for five days, taking only short breaks in the extreme fun-having for tiny bouts of sleeping. San Francisco is so awesome I can hardly even remain alive now that I am back in NYC. Some of you (having read my most recent post) may recall that I journeyed to the west coast last Thursday to attend the Bartmizvah Palooza of Griffin Sloves . Griffin is the adorable and genius son ... Read Full Story

credit: Jim Herd (altered) At 5 pm today, SF Mayor Gavin Newsom will take a tour of the charm-free middling area of Marker Street. You know, the area between Sixth and Eights Streets where you were mugged. Twice. Yes, that one. According to SF Appeal, Newsom will "tour new Market Street improvements and launch a new arts and economic development initiative." At the very least, this will prove for an interesting photo opportunity; at...
