Love Fest. Saturday, October 3rd. 2009. San Francisco. $10.

Because I live out in the boondocks I’m usually able to get a good seat when taking MUNI inbound and that gives me a great vantage point when playing the “Who else on the bus is going to the same block party I’m going to?” game. Some festivals are trickier then others, but when you start talking about the Folsom Street Fair or Love Fest even Stevie Wonder can dominate in this game. Please to enjoy, a scene from the Civic Center MUNI station during Love Fest 2009 - Oh my Lord. It’s... Read Full Story

A Wrinkle in Time.

Have been meaning to post, but since I have been working 10+ hours a day this week (on top of 2+ hours of commute time) , I will have to keep this random rant a short one. I missed my shuttle this morning by one minute because of an eyelash. And as the shuttles are one hour apart, I spent the morning writing at the Tully's on Cole, sipping on a drink I didn't really want (but was surprisingly good). I have my morning routine down to an art form, snoozing and hibernating under the covers until... Read Full Story

Sunset. Fall Equinox Celebration at Stafford Lake. 2009. FREE.

I took the Transported SF bus up to Stafford Lake for the first time and it turned out to be a fabulous experience. Even before they had the web page and it was all phone numbers and flyers, hundreds, on some days thousands, of Bay Area kids would pilgrimage up to this sleepy suburb just north of San Francisco and transform its park by the lake into an amazing and wonderful experience. Bruce Sterling once wrote that Burning Man is the New American Holiday. To go with that theme... Read Full Story

Commuting to work

Commuting to work on the BART always makes me wonder about the riders that join me on the train. What are their stories? What has life been like for them? Are they happy? There are so many people that ride these trains, so many strangers. Yet we we are all connected by this daily commute to the various destinations that make up the routine of our lives. It is a fascinating phenomenon that physically we may be squashed up together in these trains but the social distance between each... Read Full Story

The future of San Francisco

Not too far from my place is the San Francisco Transbay Terminal. If you've ever been by it before then you know what a total disaster it is. It's dark, ugly, and smells like urine whenever you walk under it. Thankfully, that is all supposed to change in the coming decade . Check out this video to see what the future looks like. Straits a San Francisco Treat

I spent the weekend in San Francisco after years of just going to the Napa Valley and bypassing the city itself. When I went back to San Francisco this time around, I was no longer a single person, I went with my 4 year old daughter and San Francisco was quite a treat as far as a city goes for a mother and child combo. San Francisco is such a great walking city that my 4 year old explored with me from the comfort of her stroller. We walked to Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf and everything... Read Full Story

SF Livin' Part 3 - The Vibe

San Francisco and the Bay Area have many wonders to behold. The place continually surprises me, but I also delight in the fact that stereotypes continually come to life. The other day I was talking to my great friends Mark... Read Full Story
