Santa Clara (5-4) travel to Houston this week to play at Houston Baptist (1-8) on Mon., Dec. 14 and then another game at Rice (4-4) on Wed., Dec. 16 before returning home to host eight straight home games. Santa Clara defeated Houston Baptist 85-59 on Jan. 25, 2009 in the two school's only meeting. Rice won the only meeting between the two teams, finishing the Broncos off 74-56 on Dec 21, 1981.

SANTA CLARA -- Tamiko Davis scored with 1 second remaining to lift the Cal State Bakersfield women's basketball team to a 78-76 victory over Santa Clara on Friday night. The Roadrunners (4-4) and Broncos (1-6) exchanged leads four times in the final 2 minutes. Santa Clara tied the game at 76 with 18 seconds remaining on a Maggie Goldenberger jump shot.  

On a night where the Gauchos could not hold onto the ball, they also allowed an undefeated record to slip out of their reach. After committing a season-high 23 turnovers with 15 giveaways in the first half alone, the UC Santa Barbara men's basketball team fell 79-68 to the visiting Santa Clara Broncos Saturday night at the Thunderdome, halting a four-game win streak that began on opening night.  

DeAngelo Jones accounted for a game-high 28 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks posted an 88-72 win over the Santa Clara Broncos as part of the West Coast Classic at the Leavey Center.  

The Broncos, in a late note, are without leading scorer Kevin Foster (19.8 ppg), who recently suffered a broken foot. However, Santa Clara has found a way to make up for the sophomore guard's absence early on, and that's by crashing the offensive glass.
