Embarrassing moments

Yes, it’s true, we have to admit it:  overweight people all have some embarrassing moments that we wish we could forget.  Myself, I can’t even count anymore how many moments or especially pictures I wish I could just erase.

For example this one:

This photo was taken by my lovely girlfriend at the airport in Sao Paulo - Brazil.  We were flying from Campo Grande to Rio de Janeiro and there was a stop in Sao Paulo.  We caught the first flight at 6:00 am and arrived in Sao Paulo at 7:00 am.  We had to wait 2 hours for the next flight, so I took a little nap.  Just to let you know that t-shirt is xxx-large.

The next two photos…

…were taken on a cruise with my girlfriend’s family.  As you can see my belly took up most of the space in the pictures.  I can’t decide which one is worse.

The next one everybody…

…those of you who have visited the blog before know this one already.  It took me quite a while to take this picture.  I’m not going to say that every overweight person doesn’t like to have their picture taken with their t-shirt off, but 99% of them don’t.  The reason I took this pictures is to be able to show the before and after.  Just to let you know, I take one everyday and as you can imagine it’s not easy.

And of course, I’ve left the most embarrassing moment for last…

What can I say?  It’s better to be quiet sometimes :).

The reason that I put these pictures here isn’t to ridicule myself or to make fun of obese people.  The reason is to get real and see that, at least in my case, I need to do something to get into shape.

When those pictures were taken I was in that classic denial mode where you know that you’re fat but in some way you don’t think it’s that bad or you think that you can start exercise and a diet tomorrow but tomorrow never comes.

So if you’re in that denial stage or if you think that you’re not that fat, take a picture of yourself without your t-shirt everyday and use it as wallpaper on your desktop.  One thing I can tell you, pictures never lie.
