Why Pick Palin?

I waited for the media leak (of which there was none to speak of) all night. Well, actually I only waited until about 2:00am. Alas, around 9:00am I catch wind of the first reports of the McCain VP pick and my first reaction is…Who? Palin, Palin the name is vaguely familiar but I can’t place it. Alaska , oh yeah, now I remember. This is that governor that is pushing to drill in ANWR. Now I’m thinking, “so far, so good”. Campaign Poster Of The Day: McCain/Palin 08

"As for that VP talk all the time, I still can't answer that question until someone answers for me 'What is it exactly that the VP does every day?' I'm used to being very productive and working real hard in the administration. We want to make sure that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position." -Sarah Palin ( John McCain's Vice Presidential Nominee & Alaska Governor-2006-Present, Interview on CNBC's Kudlow & Co. news broadcast, 7.31.2008. Cagefight! Hillary vs. Palin?

Pictured above is a polar bear in reference to Sarah Palin's "NY Times oped that protecting polar bears is a mistake because evidence about the changing climate's impact on ice shelves (aka polar bears' homes) is unreliable." I doubt that Hillary will be taking on the role of attack dog on last week's temporary "American Sweetheart". Hillary supporters I know (now turned Obama), are super miffed by the Palin selection and Palin's speech that evoked Hillary and Geraldine Ferraro. It was an... Read Full Story

Sarah Palin Gets Double Standard from Democrats

While there are parts of the opinion piece below that I do not necessarily agree with, there are distinct points that are made that hit spot on.  Primarily, the fact that Sarah Palin represents just about everything that liberals hold dear in respects to family lifestyle. She does it all.  She's a mother, a worker, a public servant.  Paraphrasing the old slogan, she accomplishes more before breakfast than most people accomplish all day.  That's her way.  She has made it clear that her style... Sarah Palin Couldn't Run A Town of 9,000

From:  ickypeople.com
This weekend, while the rest of America celebrates Labor Day Weekend (aside from the 5.7% of the workforce, 8.8 million Americans, who are currently unemployed and who are unable to celebrate having a job - or the day off that usually comes with the holiday), Democratic defenders of the Constitution have been working like little beavers, building a damn to stop the McCain-Palin ticket from flooding the country with four more years of mayhem. What they've unearthed is alarming. First, we we... Read Full Story

Way To Go, CBS

I was just another immature teenage boy in the 1950s, and most of us at that time held to the philosophy that, “If a gal was good looking, and she wasn’t snobbish, then it was okay if she was stupid.” As a matter of fact, a certain measure of stupidity was actually an advantage. Such was our 1950s worldview filtered by the screen of immaturity. By the 1960s, we had totally dropped such notions to avoid being labeled “chauvinistic pig” and “sexist.” So imagine our surprise to find—50 years... Read Full Story

Palin: A Roveian Strategy?

Most commentators believe that by selecting Alaska governor Sarah Palin as his running mate, Senator John McCain has made either the most brilliant or reckless decision of his political career. Palin certainly carries a lot of obvious risks. She is a first-term, young governor of a thinly populated, non-mainland state. Prior to that she was a mayor of Wasilla, an obscure and tiny town in that same state. Her academic credentials pale in comparison to those of the other candidates and of those... Read Full Story
