Sarah Palin going to ESPN's Sports Center?
Did you know that Sara Palin was an avid sports enthusiast? That's right. When not involved in politics, she's got other interests besides being a "naughty librarian"....
Sara Palin was a point guard for the Wasilla High School varsity basketball team in 1982 and helped the Warriors win the State Championship. Yep, it's true. Her nickname on the team was 'Sarah Barracuda' due to her intense style of play. There look down to the right, there's a few shots of Sara Heath (Palin) # 22 playing some ferocious "D" in the championship game.
Before 'Sarah Barracuda' became Governor of Alaska and ran for Vice President, Sara had aspirations of becoming a TV Sports Anchor. Here's a video short clip of the Wasilla beauty queen in the 1984 Miss Alaska pageant. Listen to the announcer (over a jazzy trumpet) introduce her, read her bio and compliment her leadership, saying:
"Sarah says she wants to prepare for a career in television broadcasting by majoring in telecommunications and political science. It is no wonder that she has also been recognized by 'Who's Who?' since she has displayed her leadership in all areas, from academics to student politics to athletics... Ladies and gentlemen,
contestant no. 8, Sarah Heath."
The former Governor was not just throwing things out there either. She followed through on her dreams, goals and aspirations. In fact, at one point she actually was employed at KTTU-TV in Alaska doing just that. Look below:
