Country above party! Democrats and Republicans must support drilling for our own oil!

We have heard calls for change but the Sarasota Herald-Tribune calls for America to do the same things we have been doing for over 30 years that do not work. In their editorial, " Offshore pandering " they argue against drilling off-shore because it is a vote getter. That is putting pure politics against the best interests of the nation. That is the height of partisanship and not change. We must put the good of the Country above political party. As I explained in detail in my column... Read Full Story

Radical Islam wants you dead, dead, dead.

Today the Sarasota Herald-Tribune again uses the war against Radical Islam to bash President Bush and his administration. In their editorial, " Connecting the dots ", they tell the same old story that, "Before the war in Iraq, President Bush and his chief associates claimed they knew about a solid link between Saddam Hussein and al-Qaeda, the international terrorist organization that attacked New York and the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001." This statement is meaningless, irrelevant and myopic... Read Full Story

The failed policies of the environmentalist left on drilling for oil.

The editorial, " How to cut foreign oil imports " by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune is a masterful piece of propaganda straight from Barack Obama's talking points. There are key questions that the editorial board doesn't ask like: How did we get to this point? How did we become so dependent on foreign oil? How is it that we are annually sending over $650 billion overseas to buy oil from those who want to kill us? How is it that Cuba and China can drill in the Gulf of Mexico and we can't. Why... Public Housing a Public Policy disaster - when will we learn?

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune editorial board get is wrong again (I wonder how many times I will have to say this) in their editorial, " Partners in public housing ". It would be better if the editorial was titled "Partners in the Public Housing Disaster". The Herald-Tribune chastises the Venice City Council, "For years the Venice City Council sat back and watched as living conditions deteriorated at Grove Terrace, the only public housing complex in southern Sarasota County." Gee what about... Read Full Story

Sarasota Herald-Tribune: Legislator can use city space for office

When state Rep. Darryl Rouson, D-St. Petersburg, opened a satellite office in a city-owned building last week, Sarasota City Commissioner Fredd Atkins questioned the move. Atkins, who supports Rouson’s challenger in the Aug. 26 Democratic primary, sent an e-mail to city attorneys asking whether the city can legally provide office space to a candidate. Atkins raised the issue after Rouson moved in last week at the Newtown Redevelopment Office, 1781 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way. State... Read Full Story
