When I was practicing l aw we used to say that certain judges were “ paper due process” guys. This meant that so long as all the i's were dotted and t's crossed anything would pass muster. It really didn't matter what testimony there was on the illegal or unconstitutional police activity, the judge would patiently listen and then just discount it and rule in favor of the prosecution.
