I know this is old advice, but some people still don’t know that you can contact your Credit Card company and request to be moved to a new card with a lower interest rate. For example, we have one credit card with a 19.5% interest rate, and a 120$ yearly fee. This is obviously too much to handle, so we made a quick call to our CC provider and asked that they give us another card. We ended up with 11.5% interest, and only a 29$ yearly fee. Since we’re planning a longish excursion next year we’ve been cutting back a lot on what we’re spending, and especially watching the impulse purchases. One thing that was contributing to our impulse buy’s was television. You may not realize it, but with so many product placements, jingles, ads, etc you remember much more than your concious mind realizes.
