Indy Car Racing is back! The split between IRL and Cart was terrible. It took Indy Car racing from the top to almost killing it. NASCAR was a second rate series until the split. We just got back from the Nashville race and it was a disappointment. Last year we didn’t get to see one car on the track. It got rained out and we couldn’t make the rain date. Today Scott Dixon became the first New Zealander to win the Indianapolis 500. He had just beat Victor Meira to take the lead in the end of the race. Dixon took the race by just 1.7498 seconds ahead of Meira. “What a day, I just couldn’t believe it,” Dixon said in a televised interview after the race. “We seemed to have a good car and we just had to hold on to it. A number of years ago I attended the Indy 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Up to that point, I’d always enjoyed Indy car races.
