Scott Baio Death Threats

Actor Scott Baio, whose daughter was misdiagnosed with a life-threatening disease, speaks at a press conference to kickoff the National Newborn Screening Awareness Month on September 5, 2008 at the Mattell Children's Hospital UCLA in Westwood, California. (Getty Images)more pics »Scott Baio has learned a valuable lesson this week: Never make fun of Michelle Obama. The actor took a jab at the First Lady on his Twitter account, when he posted a less-than-flattering photo and wrote, "WOW He wakes up to this every morning." Ouch.

But now it's Baio who's feeling the backlash. According to FoxNews.com, the former Happy Days star says he's been receiving death threats for his comment, as other Twitter users bashed him with tweets like, "Scott Baio should be PUT DOWN."

Some posters even took stabs at Baio's wife and daughter (Pacific Coast News)
Baio, of course, has been trying to remind the community that his pic and comment were just a "joke." He wrote: "For New followers: I POST A LOT OF JOKES WITH PICS. They are JUST that, a joke. NOT targeting anyone. Laughter IS the best medicine."

He said in an other post, "I'm NOT racist for posting a pic of M.O. My WIFE'S BEST FRD IS BLACK, HELLO. If YOU are born in AMERICA, U ARE AN AMERICAN. I don't insist on being called Italian-American. Therefore Black Amer are not Afr-Amer. Or that would mean people (white or black) born in Africa would be called African-Africans ... Just a thought to think about… If I'm racist, don't think I would have Directed shows like The Parkers & The Wayans Bros. or worked 41 eps w/ Victoria Rowell on D.Murder."

Baio claims he's reporting the threats to the FBI, though a rep from the LA branch of the bureau said they didn't know of any such reports.
