EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) — Eau Claire police are investigating after finding evidence that the family of a mentally disabled man had often chained him to a pole in their basement. It started Monday evening when police went to a convenience store at state Highway 53 and East Melby Street and found a 21-year-old man walking around barefoot with a heavy chain around his ankles. EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (AP) — A 41-year-old Augusta man is giving new meaning to the term skirt chaser. David Von Haden is accused of taking nearly five dozen photos up women’s skirts. He faces five counts of disorderly conduct. An Eau Claire County criminal complaint says a woman was shopping at an Eau Claire retail store Oct. 2 when she saw a man taking photos up her skirt. ALMA, Wis., Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Authorities in Buffalo County, Wis., said they uncovered a large abandoned pot farm hidden in the middle of the Tiffany State Wildlife Area. Buffalo County Sheriff Mike Schmidtknecht said thousands of chopped down marijuana plants were discovered in the 13,000-acre area along with several makeshift huts, WEAU-TV, Eau Claire, Wis., reported. Authorities recently learned of the abandoned marijuana-growing operation after a bow-hunter discovered the site hidden among area swamps. Sgt.
