Scott Speicher

Michael Scott Speicher, (July 12, 1957 – Jan. 17, 1991) was a US Navy pilot shot down during the 1991 Gulf War with Iraq. He was the first casualty of the war, but his remains were not recovered until August 2, 2009.

Scott Speicher (From WIkipedia) Scott Speicher was the first casualty of the Gulf War in 1991. A US Navy pilot, Scott Speicher was shot down over Iraq, and for 18 years his family pressed the government to find his remains. On Friday, Speicher was finally laid to rest in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was given a hero's burial.
