A community portal about Sega Dreamcast with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: The Sega Dreamcast was Sega's fifth and final video game console and the successor to the Sega Saturn. An attempt to recapture the console market with a next-generation system, it was designed to supersede the PlayStation and Nintendo 64. Originally released fifteen months before the PlayStation 2, and three years before the Nintendo GameCube and the Xbox, the Dreamcast was generally considered to be ahead of its time and was initially successful at restoring Sega's reputation in the gaming industry. However, it failed to gather enough momentum before the release of the PlayStation 2 in March 2000, and Sega decided to discontinue the Dreamcast the following year, withdrawing entirely from the console hardware business.
It seems we’ll never tire of seeing full-sized consoles refettled into handheld casings, and that’s handy since gamers don’t seem to tire of attempting such miniturization. Today’s – the handiwork of Bacteria – is the IntoDream, and it takes the venerable SEGA DreamCast and packs it into a handheld with a 5-inch PSone LCD, official PAL DreamCast hardware and joystick from the Nintendo N64.

The Dreamcast is one of those consoles that had everything going for it, and yet it still died an unnatural death to the chagrin of many. Sega fan who prefers to go by the moniker Bacteria has spent the last four months of his life working on a portable Sega Dreamcast, where it will also come with an integrated VMU (Visual Memory Unit). Dubbed IntoDream, the handheld is made up of non-Sega components, including a 5" LCD display for the PSOne...
An intrepid Sega fan going by the name Bacteria would like you to see what he's spent the last four months building: a portable Sega Dreamcast -- complete with a built-in VMU (Visual Memory Unit, should you have forgotten). Called the IntoDream, the handheld is actually comprised of some non-Sega components, specifically a 5" LCD screen for the PSone and ... a third-party N64 analog stick? The full specs are listed on his blog.

While this wouldn’t be the first handheld based on the Sega Dreamcast, I have to say that from the looks of these blurryvision pics, it sure looks like a good one.
Fans of the classic Sega console will appreciate the clean and compact styling of this portable remake what is arguably one of the best…
You thought the DreamTrooper would be the last portablized Sega Dreamcast mod you'd ever see? Nah. Turns out some folk in China quietly showed off an Oriental take on the mod -- not too dissimilar from the form factor of the GameBoy Advance -- just before the DreamTrooper's debut. Details are thin here, but we're hoping for a built-in optical drive and a decent battery life. If we're lucky, some KIRF makers might pick up this idea and revive...
Capcom is a legendary company in this industry as well as Sega but Capcom obviously has had a more consistent stream of quality games especially since sega lost it’s mojo with Sonic and other franchises. Sega has been searching to achieve some great momentum similiar to the dreamcast days with games like power stone, crazy [...]
