Stiff-Necked

I am stiff-necked tonight, spending so much time in this office chair working on the Louis L’Amour book isn’t always a good thing for my neck - or my butt either! LOL (of course that is on top of five hours I spent in the same chair doing so called ‘real work’. 

I finished swapping over 59 pages of the original manuscript into InDesign, the final 5 pages are going to have to wait until Monday - been at it steady for three hours tonight and I think I need a break. There is way too much going on this weekend and I probably won’t even turn my computer on until Sunday.

Once I get everthing changed over, I still have more work to do. I just graduated from a two year professional writing program so I haven’t updated the content of the manuscript in quite awhile. I wonder how many audio books have been put out in the last three years? OMG , More Audio Books?What have I let myself in for?  I have to have the updates completed by the time the contest is finished so that I can run a print copy, proofread it and then upload it to LUUu for release on June 10th.

I’m not as stressed out about it as I like to make you think - I have always been one for embellishment (I think that is born into every writer!). My writing group met last night and they all like the new cover much better than the original one — more fitting I think. I am having relationship issues with my scanner right now which is why there is no picture of the original cover posted here. I am hoping the scanner gets over its hissy fit soon and starts talking to my computer again, as soon as it does I will upload the original cover so you can judge for your selves.

Speaking of judging: Don’t forget to vote for the Contest Photo you think would make the best back cover.

I wonder how hard it will be to add a bit of music to the site? Something from Marty Robins maybe or Randy Travis or Willie Nelson, they both narrated Louis’s books so that would be appropriate but I LOVE Marty Robbins (and I already have him on my computer). Hmmm. . .what to do, what to do.

Well that is it for tonight freinds, I am off to rustle up some dinner and maybe watch a bit of T.V.
