Every so often I get the urge to say “Out with the old!! In with the new!!” The problem used to be “What do I do with the old?” until eBay! Unlike the yard sale, which is becoming quite retro, eBay doesn’t require you to put everything in your front yard and barter with neighbors. And you can potentially make much more if you know how to sell on eBay. Organized Cleanout People who are reorganizing their lives for one or more reasons often turn to eBay. These include folks who are moving... Read Full Story
Trivial Pursuit games seem to be good sellers. I noticed that Amazon had Trivial Pursuit: 6th Edition for $219.99 in the brown box. A quick check on eBay reveals the 6th edition in the red box sells for $10-$55. Link to red box 6th edition sales. This is an item I would put in your eBay store at $60 and use the "make offers" choice if I had a red and of course a brown one would go on Amazon.

Could this Christmas be the start of your eBay experience ? As you might imagine, there are as many different reasons to become an eBay seller as there are things to be sold. Or almost that many. Still, sellers seem to fall into one of several different categories. Let’s take a look at the casual eBay seller. Single Item/Infrequent Sellers Some people have only one or two things to sell—a present that doesn’t really suit them, for example, but they’re too embarrassed to ask the giver for the... If I find a new/sealed item for a bargain I check both Amazon and eBay to compare selling prices. Amazon can be a great place to sell brand new items. It only takes seconds to list, and Amazon provides the picture. Listing is free, you pay fees if/when your item sells. You do not get to pick how much shipping will be. Amazon will tell you before you list what you will be paid to ship. The items I

If you spot these at a yard sale or thrift store pick them up. The prices in the link are all for USED Z-Coil shoes. They are expensive new, and a lot of nurses swear by them. I had no idea used shoes could be worth anything. The price obviously varies a lot depending on size, condition, and style. Recently sellers seem to be getting $25-$150.00 for ended auctions. I have never spotted shoes at

Have you ever watched the game show, “The Price is Right?” Then you know the goal. You need to guess the price closest to the value of an item without going over the actual price. If you remember the game show, you know that the guesses vary wildly. As an eBay seller, pricing your items can be just as challenging. You want to find the point that’s low enough to gain the attention of eBay bidders but still high enough to give you a decent profit. And I can tell you that no matter how hard you... Read Full Story

Selling on eBay can also be an excellent income source. There are, however, some easily avoidable problems that sellers face regarding seller ratings. Being aware of common pitfalls can make it less of a challenge – so sellers can maintain a... Read Full Story
I have a confession to make, please don't tell my two boys: I do not like action figures. They have little parts and pieces to step on and keep up with. Each one has some whack-ado name and "specialty" the kids think is important to know. Every time a new cartoon or movie comes out we have to start over with a new pile of them. UGH. They don't outgrow them as adults, either. I know plenty of grown men with action figures in a closet that they call an investment. I thought they were just as... Read Full Story
At this point, I’d like to mention the concept of the eBay reserve price. In an auction-style listing, the seller can set a minimum price for an item, such that if bidding never reaches that price, the eBay auction will end with the item unsold. That minimum amount is the reserve price. Why set a reserve price? Sometimes sellers decide that, for whatever reason, they simply cannot sell an item for less than a given price. But they’re concerned that their minimum starting price will be just... Read Full Story

Since eBay banned the sale of digital products in their auctions, many marketers have abandoned eBay as a source of income. Other factors to this abandoning of eBay included some policy and fee changes which were heavily opposed. However, those who were willing to stick with eBay found that is was still quite possible to make money on eBay.
