President Barack Obama giving his inaugural address, January 20, 2009 *** For we know that our patchwork heritage is a strength, not a weakness. We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus — and nonbelievers. We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth; and because we have tasted the bitter swill of civil war and segregation, and emerged from that dark chapter stronger and more united, we cannot help but believe that the old hatreds shall someday pass; that the lines of tribe shall soon dissolve; that as the world grows smaller, our common ... We, the undersigned residents of the State of Illinois, hereby demand that Barack Hussein Obama produce documentation of American citizenship in the form of a legal birth certificate. It is our understanding that Mr. Obama has heretofore refused to produce such a document. The residency requirement for qualification as a United States Senator includes United States citizenship. Without documentation, under United States law, Barack Hussein Obama may not legally qualify to represent the citizens of the State of Illinois. By signing this petition, we request that the State of Illinois investigate Mr. Obama's eligibility to serve in the Senate and make his birth certificate ... Read Full Story

“Senator Obama was raised by a very competent and professional woman and he is married to a very competent and professional woman. He has included women in leadership roles at all levels of the campaign.” Behind every great presumptive Presidential nominee is a great team. Meet the women behind Senator Obama. They’re smart, powerful and willing to work round the clock on their candidate’s campaign. First and foremost is Barack’s devoted wife, Michelle, to whom he’s been married for 16 years. His former Harvard Law School colleagues say that once he met Michelle in summer 1989 he curtailed dating anyone else even though he ... Read Full Story

Instead of just pointing to other articles this is an original opinion piece I wrote about Obama’s leadership. Something I think a lot of people will agree with. We’ll see. There’s a difference between getting elected and assuming leadership and I’m still waiting for President Obama to assume leadership. Obama’s management style seems to be that he’s just another member of a team rather than the team captain. America is in a crisis and...

In reading GAME CHANGE, I am surprised by how snarky the U.S Senate is.  According to the authors, many Democratic US Senators were pretending to be neutral in the primary race but behind then Senator Clinton's back were pushing and supporting then Senator Obama and saying many unflattering things about Senator Clinton.   Sounds a [...]

Prof. Ann Althouse, whose work I often agree with, writes: Is Harry Reid a racist? It depends on what the meaning of racist is. “It was all in the context of saying positive things about Senator Obama. It definitely was in the context of recognizing in Senator Obama a great candidate and future president.” So said Democratic [...]

This morning, a few minutes ahead of schedule, President Obama spoke to the fired up crowd of folks who'd made it through the snow to hear him address the Democratic Party's 2010 Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C. In his speech, the President reiterated his fierce commitment to fighting for health insurance reform: "The easiest thing to do right now would be to just say, oh, [passing health reform] is too hard, let's just re-group and lick...

Excerpt:
"Embryonic stem cells can be obtained from a number of sources, including in vitro fertilization. At this very moment, there are over 400,000 embryos being stored in over 400 facilities throughout the United States. The majority of these are reserved for infertile couples. However, many of these embryos will go unused, destined for permanent storage in a freezer or disposal. We should expand and accelerate research using these embryos, just as we should continue to explore the viability of adult stem cell use and cord blood use."
