Ted Kennedy Diagnosed With Brain Tumor

After suffering a seizure Saturday, Senator Ted Kennedy has been hospitalized and diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.

Kennedy will remain at Massachusetts General Hospital while he and his family discuss and decide on treatment options. Apparently he is in good spirits, talking and joking with family and friends, while undergoing tests.

It has been reported that the Senator has a malignant tumor, a glioma in the left parietal lobe of his brain. According to the hospital he has had no further seizures, and is in good condition.

A course of treatment has not been decided on for Kennedy. The hospital said they would need to conduct further testing and analysis before making a decision. But the usual course of treatment includes combinations of radiation and chemotherapy.

The Democratic Senator recently endorsed Barack Obama for president. He's currently the second-longest serving senator in U.S. history, serving Massachusetts in the Senate since 1962.
