Matt Hasselbeck, Charlie Frye, Mike Teel, David Greene, and Seneca Wallace: All five of these players have been or still are quarterbacks for the Seattle Seahawks.
Frye lasted one season and was not re-signed. Greene was a bust draft pick in 2005 and never made it with the Seahawks.
Wallace is in the top three in terms of backup quarterbacks in the NFL and has great starting potential. Hasselbeck is the only quarterback in Seahawks history to...

The Seattle Seahawks have signed former University of Washington running back Louis Rankin to their practice squad, according to the team’s website.
Rankin, who rushed for over 1,000 yards during his senior year at UW in 2007, has spent the past two seasons with the Oakland Raiders.
The 6′1″, 205-pound tailback was on Oakland’s active roster for two games this season, acting as the team’s kick returner early on.
Rankin was released prior to...

Though the Seahawks will have Matt Hasselbeck, Seneca Wallace, and presumably Mike Teel on the roster at the quarterback position, it has been widely speculated that the team will use a high pick next year to grab a quarterback.
The team has struggled in the last two seasons with Seneca Wallace under center in Hasselbeck’s extended absences, and a few weeks ago, I called for the team to sign Jeff Garcia to be the backup to Hasselbeck.
But next...

Hasselbeck took all his normal snaps in practice Friday, and the Seahawks listed him as probable on their official injury report. According to the NFL's injury-report standards, that means it's a virtual certainty Hasselbeck will play.

Seneca Wallace could remember only his mistakes on Sunday: not connecting with open tight end John Carlson down the middle on numerous occasions, his careless interception deep after escaping his own end zone, and the fourth-down pass that fell to the turf, ending Seattle's hopes.

Fourth quarter
And I will conclude my game blog following Brandon Frye's last failure to get more than a hand on defensive end Robert Mathis. Mathis came untouched, hit Seneca Wallace from behind and forced a fumble recovered by Raheem Brock.
Defensive end Patrick Kerney suffered an injury to his groin, it was announced, and will not return.

Edgerrin James honored between the third and fourth quarter, a presentation on the...

So I tried to watch last week's game between Seattle and Chicago on NFL rewind, but I must admit that I got bored and fell asleep in the middle. I did still make a few observations that may be germane to this week's game.
Seneca Wallace tends to overthrow his long passes. I predict at least 1 interception because of this.
Wallace played well early in the more scripted portion of the game, but had more trouble as the game went on. (7/9 for 94...

Wow... that was the definition of an ugly win.
In fact, I will just come out and say it; the Bears did not deserve to win.
Their defense, while it forced turnovers, was pretty miserable most of the game. They made Seneca Wallace look pro bowl like and Julius Jones shredded through tacklers like it was nothing.
But they won. And a win is a win, whether it is ugly or pretty and I will take it. So lets get to the grades:
OFFENSE

"It's extremely unlikely Matt will play," said Jim Mora.
Am I alone in asking, "is this really that bad?"
The Bears' defense is one of the most aggressive in the league. Seneca is way more mobile than Hasselbeck. If Seneca makes the correct reads about when to run and when to pass, he could easily tire out this Bears defense.
Expect to see Knapp use this. I expect to see a lot of creativeness in this game. I believe Seneca will have a day...

Matt Hasselbeck had a throbbing shoulder, to go with broken ribs. His Seahawks had even bigger issues. Faster than you can say "road kill," they were down 17-0 at home to the Lions. "It was like, 'You've got to be kidding me.' Seriously?"' Hasselbeck said, raising his voice as high as he then raised his game.

All offseason, Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys thought about their horrendous finale in Philadelphia. Now they're headed back, playing so well that they've turned this return trip into a showdown to decide first place in the NFC East. Romo threw touchdown passes to three receivers, including his new favorite target Miles Austin, and didn't have an interception for a career-best third...

Seattle cornerback Ken Lucas did not return after he sustained a shoulder stinger in the third quarter of the Seahawks' game Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. Lucas was hurt trying to bring down running back Felix Jones in Dallas' 38-17 victory. On the tackle, Jones pushed Lucas to the ground, and the ninth-year cornerback landed awkwardly.

Marcus Trufant will make his season debut for the Seahawks on Sunday at Dallas. Seattle activated the 2007 Pro Bowl cornerback from the physically-unable-to-perform list Friday. Last week was the first time Trufant had practiced since July, when a disk issue in his back began. Coach Jim Mora expects Trufant to play mainly in nickel defensive alignments on passing downs against the Cowboys.

Seattle's fourth fallen star had his season end Thursday.
