According to Wikipedia.org: Sesame Street is an American educational children's television series for preschoolers and is a pioneer of the contemporary educational television standard, combining both education and entertainment. Sesame Street is well known for its Muppet characters, created by the puppeteer Jim Henson. More than 4,134 episodes of the show have been produced in 36 seasons, which makes it one of the longest-running television shows in history.

If you love Sesame Street, head down to Charleston on Sunday to celebrate the beloved children's show's 40th anniversary. The celebration will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Charleston's Kiwanis Park. The streets running through the park will be renamed "Sesame Street."

Oscar the Grouch and Zoe from Sesame Street came to Los Angeles to tell everyone that Sesame Street is turning the big 4-0. This week the most famous street in the world is celebrating its birthday with a new DVD collection, commemorative book and an appearance by Michelle Obama on the anniversary episode.
