If you calculate the Rise in Sea Level that resulted in Connecticut Lake becoming the Long Island Sound, we are talking 250 ft in the last 18,000 years.  (One of many references:  http://www.ct-botanicalsociety.org/newsletter/greening.html ) This equates to 0.17 in per year or 1.7 inches per decade, which is pretty darn close to what Mr. Borenstein's article dated 11/23/2009 in the AP states has happened to the ocean since 1997.  (He reports the world's oceans have risen 1.5 inches since 1997.)  Amazing!!!!  What he is reporting is NOT new news. Today, I was browsing on Yahoo News and I came across a very alarming story with the following alarming headline: "Arctic sea ice thinnest ever going into spring".  Written by Seth Borenstein of Associated Press.  After reading it, I could see that this man writes not from a position of knowledge seeking, but from a position of fear and terror While reading it, I could not help but stop and think to myself: On Earth, everything is in motion, always. Compare any meteorelogical meausure from year to year, and they will never be the same. They will often vary wildly from any supposed "baseline" ... Read Full Story

There are some natural, universal laws that most of us seem to accept without question. We tend to believe that what goes up must come down, also know as gravity. We tend to think that if you jump out of an airplane without a parachute, it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop (that is the law of splatis grandes). And, another less spoken of law of physics is that nothing can remain that same, it must get bigger or it must get smaller. Many words can be exchanged for bigger and smaller. Words like faster and slower, fatter and skinnier, ... Read Full Story

Well, I took a few days off, so if you read this blog everyday you realized I hadn't posted since Thursday. I went down to Florida and visited my brother, his wife and his three kids. I also got to see my mom and sister. It was a great few days. I love my family more than anything. My brother has a nice boat, and we went fishing on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We went out very early today, let out six lines, and trolled for several hours. We took his boat out through the intercoastal and proceeded to the Atlantic Ocean. The weather ... Read Full Story
