Washington Redskins punter Hunter Smith left Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a groin injury, forcing placekicker Shaun Suisham into punting duties.  

The Dallas Cowboys celebrated spontaneously when they escaped Kansas City with an overtime victory against the winless Chiefs a month ago. Tony Romo and Miles Austin connected on the 60-yard deciding score before finding themselves at the bottom of an end-zone pileup that was lampooned by critics certain the win was nothing more than a sign of a .500 team, if that.  

Jay Ratliff was still a backup for the Dallas Cowboys, a defensive end and former seventh-round draft pick with only a handful of tackles when coach Wade Phillips arrived. Yet nearly three years ago, Phillips saw something much more in Ratliff, who has since moved to nose tackle and become a Pro Bowl player.

It's been a wild ride for the quarterback and the club since that pre-playoff siesta two years ago, but look at them now: 6-2, winners of four straight and in first place in the NFC East. Better still, the Cowboys are fresh off a 20-16 victory at Philadelphia that was satisfying in many ways.

Tony Romo threw a 49-yard TD pass to Austin midway through the fourth quarter and the Dallas Cowboys beat the Eagles 20-16 Sunday night in the 100th meeting between the division rivals.  

While his lower-paid teammate breaks records, Cowboys receiver Roy Williams sounds like a broken record. The player who cost Dallas three draft picks and a $45 million contract extension has offered the same refrain for weeks now. He's frustrated. He can't get on the same page with Tony Romo, and doesn't know why.
