America's Next Top Model Cycle 11: Sheena

America's Next Top Model has never been kind to Asian girls.  There have been few contestants of East Asian descent on the show (Gina and biracial April) are the only models who come to mind), although Tyra Banks constantly pats herself on the back about how diverse her casts are.  She'd like credit for paving the way for big girls and trannies, by the way.

Perhaps during this cycle's casting Tyra looked at her bullpen of past winners and realized all their minority winners were either black or hispanic or plus-sized.  If she's going to break gender barriers with this cycle, she has to be fair about the racial breakdown of her other contestants, right?  So she and her casting scouts searched for the right Asian girl, and this is who they found:
Huh.  Interesting.  Right now I find Harlem Sheena's "different swagger" charming, but all bets are off when the season starts next week.
