My Fantasy Shoe Life
:( All this mortage stuff is getting me down today. At the moment it just seems like loads of hassle and expense and we still aren't any closer to buying our house yet! Arrgh! I Have decided to cheer myself up by taking refuge in a fantasy shoe life~~~
I picture these shoes walking across a white marbe floor. I'm wearing pearls and a pink ballgown It is a royal reception. Ladies in pastel gowns dance with men in black tuxedos, coloured shapes floating and gliding like clouds around the floor. At the end of the room, the queen is seated at a gilded table, intimately talking to man on her left. I walk towards her, coloured figures dancing a path around me. I reach the table. One of the black suited figures hands me a sword. I cut off her head.
I am sitting at a street cafe in Paris wearing these shoes with thick black tights and a patterned purple dress. It is a warm day and the street is busy. It is loud and busy; sounds of traffic and people talking quickly fill the surronding air. A young child lets go of a balloon. A young man approaches me with a long stemmed white rose.
A young girl dances in a nightclub in Shanghai. She is wearing a short gold qipao and has flowers in her hair. A group of men sit at a nearby table watching her with a sense of ownership. A young chinese man, not sensing the danger walks up to her, lays a hand on her shoulder. One of the men gets up, takes the man by the elbow and leads him outside. The rest follow single file, the girl last, so much smaller and more delicate. Outside she smiles as they beat the young man.
It is Autmun and ground is slippery with damp leaves. It is not raining now but it has been for days. I am wearing a mixture of tweed and tulle. I am waiting for a man. He has been hunting today and his wife does not expect him back. He meets me in the wood still wearing his breeches and red coat. We embrace.
