The Shroud of Turin is believed to be the cloth that Jesus Christ was wrapped in when he was buried. It measures about 14 feet by 4 feet and has an image on it like a photographic negative that people claim to be Jesus Christ. The Shroud is making headlines because scientists in Italy claim that they have reproduced the image and have proved that the Shroud is not really from medieval times and is a hoax.

A Vatican researcher claims she has found a nearly invisible text on the Shroud of Turin and says the discovery proves the authenticity of the artifact revered as Jesus' burial cloth. The claim made in a new book by historian Barbara Frale drew immediate skepticism from some scientists, who maintain the shroud is a medieval forgery. An Italian scientist issued a release today claiming he has recreated a replica of the Shroud of Turin ,  proving that the cloth that was believed to have been buried with Jesus Christ and dates back to the 13th Century, is a fraud. Luigi Garlaschelli says he has made a copy of the 14 foot by 4 foot cloth that has an image of what is believed to be Jesus Christ. A group of Italian debunkers is claiming it has proved that the Shroud of Turin — revered as the cloth that covered Jesus in the tomb — was man-made. The shroud bears the image of a crucified man. Believers say Christ's image was recorded on the fibers at the time of his resurrection.
