Quite a bit going on in town, despite the slow down due to the Rainy Season. Couple of good parties last week, both giving away Free Beer! Firstly, I thought i’d call down and see my mate Elvin from Pacino’s Bar , turns out it was his birthday (61 years young). Turns out he forget to tell me about it, so much for our friendship! Then again, it was my birthday two days before and I didn’t tell him I guess. Anyway, stayed there for a few hours and had a great time, always a fun guy to be around. Does throw a great ... ‘Beach town’, ‘port community’, ‘fledgling resort destination’ - all describe Sihanoukville, Cambodia’s premier beach town. Sihanoukville’s white sand beaches and warm Gulf of Thailand waters combine with a laid back, beachy atmosphere to provide a great little tropical getaway. Sihanoukville is a place to unwind by the beach, enjoy the fresh from-the-ocean seafood, take in a snorkeling or scuba trip, and generally slow-down, lay back and chill-out. Sihanoukville has a different look and feel than most Cambodian towns. Constructed as a port city in the late 1950s, the town is much newer, more urban and cosmopolitan than most Cambodian provincial cities. Nowadays, Sihanoukville is ... Read Full Story

Firstly, we must apologise if you were trying to access the Sihanoukville Online website or forum over the past 24 hours. Incredibly, the site had exceeded it's maximum bandwidth of nearly 8 Gb!! I'd obviously noticed that the site was getting an increasing number of visitors some time ago, so set what I believed to be an 'over generous' limit, this morning I was shocked and yet delighted to see that it had been beaten. Anyway, i've doubled the limits now and i'll remember to pay a very close eye on things to ensure this doesn't happen again! This site is designed to work ... Read Full Story

I have recommended a number of friends visiting Sihanoukville, to stay at the Beach Club Resort down near Ochheuteal Beach, the reviews have been consistant in their praise. Everything from the $4.50 “all you can eat” breakfast buffet, to the ‘candle-lit’ Pool side tables during the evening have come in for a discussion, not to mention the fact that every room has it’s own Digital ‘Safe’. Anyway, I decided to call down and take a closer look for myself. I’ve always recommended the Beach Club simply because of the excellent location, being only a short walk from Ochheuteal Beach as it is, however the ... Read Full Story

The Pocoloco Nightclub & Bar is organising the first Cambodian Bike Week right here in Sihanoukville over the weekend of 27th - 29th March. Judging by the amount of bikes that have hit town over the past couple of months, this is bound to be a popular event attracting many bikers from Cambodia, Thailand as well as further afield. The Cambodain Bike Week is perfectly timed too, coming as it does between the Burapha Bike Week in Pattaya, Thailand and the Phuket Bike Week, also in Thailand. Only last year this event would have been impossible to organise in Cambodia, but now, with the ... Read Full Story

Yesterday morning we left Cambodia, after a month trying to unravel the perplexing knot of emotions we felt about the country. We found the natural beauty we’d been searching for, down south.
