Winter Skiing Vacations in Colorado
Buttermilk Mountain in Colorado is a good place to take the family to ski or learn to ski. It has a moderate terrain and the runs are well kept. Jibbers like Buttermilk Resort; Aspen and Snowmass overshadow it, but Buttermilk is a good resort. The terrain conceived and designed for beginning and intermediate skiers. The 430 acres of terrain has seven ski lifts. For snowboarder there is a terrain park and a half-pipe. There isnt any snow tubing. There is 420 acres of skiable area and 26% is the most difficult and there are 41 trails. The longest run is 15, 840 feet. There are three restaurants
Vacationers will also enjoy the Bachelor Gulch ski resort in the valley below Beaver Creek Mountain, which is a ski-in, ski-out resort. The design captures the atmosphere of the western grand lodges and is built with hewn logs and stone. The interior is decorated with wood and leather. The other attractions of this resort are a fly fishing library, a spa, and Wildlife Concierge. There are several summer activities like fly fishing, jeep tours, mountain biking, and hiking.
Another great place to ski from the middle of November to Memorial Day is Squaw Valley. There are 177, 34 lifts, and 4000 skiable acres. The terrain is 35% advanced. For extreme skiers this is the place and it is where extreme skiing was born in America. But there is plenty of skiing for every level and the Squaw Valley Ski Resort is very nice and pampering.
