Tuesday October 2, 2007 a precedent setting judgment was handed down in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, The Honorable Marilyn Hall Patel presiding.The decision held that under California law websites, such as Target.com, are required to provide accessibility to the blind.
As a business owner you are already familiar with the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA). You likely have handicap access to your physical location. Rulings such as this begin to lay a legal framework to establish similar requirements for the web.
