I’m often asked how particular features of this website were developed and deployed so I thought I would write a little article which gave a little more information. Work started on the site probably 15 months ago (October 2006). I had worked on a few website projects before so I was pretty familiar with website design and promotion and felt that I could do this myself. Unlike other projects I’ve been involved with, financial constraints would not be an issue during development, the major... Read Full Story
If you've never heard of this word then you've probably never read an Inheritance Trilogy book by Christopher Paolini. Brisingr is the Third installment of the Trilogy and follows on from Eragon and Eldest. It's due for release on September 20th and I'll be waiting in line to buy a copy.
I love these books. The imagination and storytelling are wonderful. There's definitely some Lord of the Rings influence in there, especially the map in the cover of the book!
What's this got to do with web... Read Full Story

Great article by Jason on Link Building, which keeps the language simple and the truth obvious. i.e. Link Building takes a lot of time and there is no AUTO program to do it for you! Stuart ========================================== by Jason Storm Two of the three big search engines (Google and Yahoo) place a large importance on one way links to determine rankings. Each link to your site is like a vote and the more votes you have, the higher you will rank. In this article I will be sharing... Read Full Story
Yesterday I attended a webinar previewing the upcoming XSitePro 2.0.
All I can say is WOW!!!
I was floored. XSitePro 2.0 is a website builder, but the sites created by it will be anything but static. It really takes away any of the advantages a blog currently owns in the search engine marketplace.
Some of the new features that I am very excited about are the ability to schedule content publishing over time, the option to create forms that are completed on line and submitted to the... Read Full Story
New feature on Fabulous Photo Gifts – the visual page guide . We just wanted to tell you about a new feature on the Fabulous Photo Gifts website. It's a visual 'map' of a typical photo gift item shop page. Visitors to our site will notice that every individual shop page has the same layout – a picture of the gift idea, some text explaining the photo gift and then a series of purchase options below where you can actually add an item to your basket. There is other information like delivery... Read Full Story
An interesting flyer found its way through our letterbox the other day from a local Xerox representative. Inside the glossy pages was this little gem about using colour in print... Information is communicated 55% better in colour than in black and white. Invoices that include colour are paid 30% faster than standard black and white. Customers' recall of your communication is 80% greater when it includes colour. The source wasn't quoted, but if those figures are anywhere near like real, then... Read Full Story
Interesting comment on “common sense” SEO by Jonothan Leger on his blog . Jono is a talented programmer and marketer whose products I have put to good use, and in this post argues that’s it dangerous to accept everthing you read about SEO as fact.
Although I agree with the fact that you should not believe everything you read as SEO fact, I take issue with some of Jon’s conclusions. For example:
“ 1. The Themed-Link Myth
This is one of my favorite myths. Everyone assumes that Google... Read Full Story
SEO – are you using titles in your links? Are you using titles in your links? Either internal site links or external links? If not, then you could be missing out on a golden SEO opportunity. Titles should not be confused with the page title or with 'alt text' which accompanies an image – the visible text when you place your mouse over an image. The title goes after a URL link tag but within the overall bracket of the link. E.G: <a href=”http://purple13.blogspot.com”>Click here to visit the... Read Full Story
I was recently contacted by a personal trainer working out of South Florida. Doug had built a site using XSitePro to sell his " Fitness Now & Forever " course but needed some help with some formatting issues. Main problem was Doug had used MS Word to create his page, which was then converted to HTML and imported into XSitePro. Big mistake. Word makes terrible HTML and adds a lot of proprietary code. NEVER use Word to create HTML. It's just not the right tool for the job. The problem was... Read Full Story
