I don't have much need to defend Dreamweaver, but I do use it. I use it largely in Code View. I use it to write CSS files and to edit XML files. I use it to upload and download. It's easy to use and the interface matches Flash and Photoshop CS4, so what's not to like? And this blog post says it better than I could.
