Even though Smallville has been stuck in the death slot of Friday nights, (thanks, CW), the ratings for the Tom Welling-starring fantasy series are improving. Now admittedly Smallville is not capturing 8 million viewers like NBC’s Law & Order or 7.9 million viewers like Ghost Whisperer on Friday nights, but it is picking up. Smallville drew in [...]

Julian Sands enters the scene as Jor-El, who comes to Earth in search of his son.On "Kandor," Jor-El arrives at the Kent farm looking for Kal-El.  Unfortunately for him, he isn't around and he instead encounters a different being - Chloe (Allison Mack).  It's a good thing she doesn't intend to capture the guy and claim his powers.  That's...

Brian Austin Green is a really mean machine on Smallville (Oct. 2 8/7c, CW). In Friday's episode, poor John Corbin (Green) gets mowed over by a bus. Cue the creation of Metallo, the iconic DC super villain who has it out for the Blur, aka Clark Kent (Tom Welling). Metropolis and its residents, especially Lois Lane (Erica Durance), aren't safe with him on the streets. Green graciously talked with us about all things Metallo, including who built...

Over Smallville's nine-year run, the show's universe has fittingly expanded; yet, fans would like to see a few characters come back. Though we haven't see her in quite a while, Martha Kent (Annette O'Toole) is still alive and well. Even though Lex Luthor (Michael Rosenbaum) is presumably dead, the Superman mythos would have to disagree. Jimmy Olson (Aaron Ashmore) was also lost last season, but the real photog and eventual best friend to...

SMALLVILLE could be forced to end because of 'actor availability' issues with Tom Welling, according to one of the show's executive producers. The show reimagines the younger years of Clark Kent before he became Superman, with 31-year-old Welling in the lead role. Kryptonsite reports that executive produce Darren Swimmer told TV Guide that although the show is enjoying a ratings rebound in its eighth season, it may have to end in May because of actor availability problems, notably with Welling. There was no response to calls to the actor's agents. A grand finale for the show is being prepared in the event that it ... Read Full Story

Tom Welling will never wear the Superman suit? At least not on Smallville . Fucking lame. “It would be the end of the show because that would be when Smallville would end and Superman would begin,” says Al Gough , series co-creator. I understand that the series has always been about Clark Kent becoming Superman, and not him being Superman. It is kind of annoying that Clark refuses to fly and that he's still dealing with pretty low rent villains a lot of the time. It's cool to see them bring in characters like Bizzaro and a lot of the Justice League guys but ... Read Full Story
