Tips N Tweaks Series

The Tips N Tweaks series of articles that I will be writing are going to cover a number of quick, inexpensive and - most importantly - effective means of improving the system performance of your CPS. Each article will cover one topic of discussion in order to give you easy to read reference materials. Many of the articles will also have a cumulative effect on improving system performance.

It should be noted that most of these tips that I will be freely sharing will require that you are either well versed in hardware and software configurations of computers or you know someone who is and can do it for you. The reason I stress this is for the simple fact that if you are unfamiliar with the processes, tools and precautions, it is very easy to mess up your CPS (or any other computer for that matter).  There is a number of potential shock hazards any time you open up your computer case as well as other risks of damaging sensitive electronics, corrupting data and programs, etc.  Along the same line is any time that you change the default or factory software settings, you run the risk of corrupting data, programs and so forth.

On the other hand, once you know what you are doing or have someone tweaking your system for you who is more familiar with the potential problems that may arise, the benefits in system performance and reliability are considerable.
