Cold as Ice: Kit Harington Confirms 'Definite Tension' Between Sansa and Jon in 'GoT'
There's trouble in Starkville.
Siblings can't be expected to get along all the time, but when the fate of the world is in your hands, whose face is on the coin is slightly less pressing.
In a new interview with EW, Game of Thrones star Kit Harington confirmed what all fans have been stressing over since the Season 6 finale: There's trouble in Starkville. Sadly enough, it makes sense that Jon and Sansa would experience conflict. After all, she's been forced to toughen up and fight for her life (with little to no help, might I add, go girl, do you) while Jon seems to have been under immense pressure to survive and succeed since the show's first season.
Two certified badasses in conflict. Where have we seen this before? Oh yeah, everywhere.
"There is definite tension between them right from the first scene," Harington told the site in an interview published Thursday. "There are the same problems — she questions his decisions and command; he doesn’t listen to her."
Yes, yes, that sounds about right. Strong personalities aren't always going to see eye-to-eye. But how bad is it really going to get? Harington's next few words weren't exactly of the "good news" variety.
"But as far as where that goes or takes them or how dark it can get, we'll see. It gets past sibling squabbling, it gets into two people power struggling," he admitted, dumping our souls into vats of ice cold panic.
At the risk of spoiling something no proper Game of Thrones fan should be unaware of...
...there's no time for shenanigans in Westeros. Season 7 will no doubt brim with White Walkers and the people who stop them from overtaking humanity. Jon and Sansa should be putting their heads together to solve this bleakest of scenarios. Instead, it sounds like they'll be spending a good amount of time on the sassy train to failsville.
There is, however, one individual who might put them both in the hot seat.
Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres July 16, 2017 on HBO.
