Awaken the sleeping giants...

Thursday, in his address to the nation, Captain Caveman pointed the club at Iran, making statements like "a free Iraq will counter the destructive ambitions of Iran". The man sends chills down my spine every time his lips move, but this address was of particular concern to me. With our troops at their breaking point, our financial resources and military stockpiles at an all time low, and with an American public that largely believes this failed campaign to be a horrendous mistake, this... War

As a former servicemember, I realize that war is the enforcement of governmental policy. Without millions of men sufferings and many dying in World War 2, Hitler (A willing pawn of Satan!) would of eventually conquered the world. But why do they happen? What is the heart of the matter. James 4:1-3 From whence [come] wars and fightings among you? [come they] not hence, [even] of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye... Read Full Story

Trinitarianism?

The question is, when we baptize people, shall we say, “I baptize you in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins,” or should we say, “I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”? Well, since Jesus came in the father's name (John 5:43) and is the son was called Jesus (Matt 1:21) and the Holy Spirit came in Jesus' name (john 14:26), then the trinity formula is in error. In the bible every person who was ever baptized, did so only in Jesus name. Also... Read Full Story

War...who is it good for?

A question so often asked, and so rarely answered. Okay, some wars have been, as far as war goes, justifiable. A war fought over civil liberties, fought to retain freedom, or to take it back. War for equality. The basic problem, of course, is that the war need not have been necessary in the first place had those involved in the war...the oppressors, for now, simply acted with compassion and conscience as their guiding influence. This war, however, the Iraqi invasion, is the real puzzler. Not... Read Full Story

Ode to War

Time to watch our world combust hearts of gold lined with rust lost young souls, breath to dust. Decades of potential unfulfilled hollow war leaves young blood spilled deaths that our "brave leaders" willed .   Read Full Story

Pura Vida

The Pure Life. More an ideology than two little words. In Costa Rica, it is said that la pura vida represents "living in peace in a calm, unclustered manner, appreciating a life surrounded by nature and family and friends".  For me it is a dream. A lifes goal. It is the very essence of what I believe that life should be, yet the exact opposite from what I find life to be here in the states. I see chaos, and utter unhappiness. Many of the people I interact with on a daily basis tell me that... Read Full Story

BREAKING NEWS!! It gets hot inside your car...

Once again we are faced with the terrible tragedy of young lives snuffed out as the result of sheer stupidity. In an autopsy released yesterday in Charelston, SC, Coroner Glenn Rhoad confirmed that two toddlers found dead, wrapped in garbage bags, under the kitchen sink in their home in Hanahan were victims hyperthermia. Trinity,1,  and Shawn Cambell Jr, 4, were left in their mothers car on Tuesday, July 31. According to an AP report, the babysitter canceled and the single mother, Sametta... Read Full Story

William O Douglas

Born in 1898, William O Douglas would serve on the US Supreme Court for 36.5 years, the longest tenure of a Justice to date. In his long life, he accumulated the kind of knowledge worth sharing with the world. A true visionary in the matter of civil liberties, Justice Douglas knew that that America teeters on the verge of the extinction of liberty. Here are a few words of wisdom from a brilliant man. 'I worked among the very, very poor, the migrant workers, the Chicanos, and the I.W.W.'s who... Read Full Story

Make a change

September 21st fast approaches, the day for those of us who believe that there is a better way to make our voices heard, the International Day of Peace was first established by the United Nations in 1981, and inaugurated in 1982. Made official by the UN general assembly in 2001, the International Day of Peace " will serve as a reminder to all peoples that our Organization, with all its limitations, is a living instrument in the service of peace and should serve all of us here within the... Babysitter, anyone?

I am consumed by this idea, this belief, that people are basically capable,  at least able to take care of themselves. You know, an "everything I need to know I learned in kindergarten" type of thing. Play nicely with others, share your toys, no hittting, biting, whining, stealing...you get the picture, right? Well, as obsessed as I am with this theory, the reality of this world keeps shutting me down. I find myself in a near constant state of wonderment at the basic ineptitude of the general...
