A community portal about Spacetime with blogs, videos, and photos. According to Wikipedia.org: In physics, spacetime is a mathematical model that combines space and time into a single construct called the space-time continuum. Spacetime is usually interpreted as a four-dimensional object with space being three-dimensional and time playing the role of the 4th dimension. According to Euclidean space perception, our universe has three dimensions of space, and one dimension of time. By combining space and time into a single manifold, physicists have significantly simplified a good deal of physical theory, as well as described in a more uniform way the workings of the universe at both the supergalactic and subatomic levels.

If you're a student, graphing fanatic, or someone who needs to solve complex mathematical equations on a PDA, you might be interested in SpaceTime. Touted by the manufacturer as "the most powerful mathematics program ever developed for the Pocket PC," SpaceTime 4.0 lets you move, zoom, and rotate 2D, 3D, and time graphs. You can also solve limits, derivates, and integrals with MobileCAS, a computer algebra system with typesetting that is...

Was Newton right and Einstein wrong? It seems that unzipping the fabric of spacetime and harking back to 19th-century notions of time could lead to a theory of quantum gravity.Physicists have struggled to marry quantum mechanics with gravity for decades. In contrast, the other forces of nature have obediently fallen into line. For instance, the electromagnetic force can be described quantum-mechanically by the motion of photons. Try and work...

Mainstream physics is in the midst of a welcome development, as a new theory by Petr Hořava has posed a serious challenge to Einstein's general relativity model. It has also vindicated many of Mr. Stolyarov's insights in "A Rational Cosmology."Contributor: G. Stolyarov IIPublished: Nov 24, 2009
