Federal officials are investigating a business that produces batches of ready-made embryos and lets prospective parents select one based on the donors’ looks, ethnicity, education and other factors. A consumer safety officer from the Food and Drug Administration was at Jennalee Ryan’s house Friday during an Associated Press interview with the woman who runs the Abraham Center of Life. The officer would not comment. An FDA spokeswoman in Dallas confirmed that the agency is investigating but would not elaborate. Obviously, I am a celebrity gossip junkie, but some people are taking their Hollywood obsessions to a new extreme by seeking celebrity look-alikes as their sperm donors. In addition to specifying that you want your baby daddy to have a high IQ and be a good athlete, you can also request that he has George Clooney's chiseled good looks or Mel Gibson's piercing blue eyes.
