Speaking in an interview to promote his upcoming horror flick Drag Me To Hell, Raimi told Cinematical : "As far as Spider-Man, I've learned a lot of lessons about what people didn't like and missteps that I'd made. Bruce Campbell promised he'd be a bigger part of Spider-Man 4 , even though he's had three small fanboy-pleasing cameos in the first three films in the series. Tough to know whether or not to believe Campbell, though, because he's got such a long history with director Sam Raimi that, much like his appearances in the Spider-Man movies, it could be a tongue-in-cheek joke. But Raimi has backed up his friend and collaborator, telling MTV , "I promised him we would write something because I really love putting him in the pictures." Added Raimi, "I promised him a good, meaty role." Sounds great, right? ... Read Full Story

Sam Raimi is best known as the man behind the "Spiderman" franchise, but he's also widely regarded as a master of the macabre and of horror. I like strong reactions," he notes quietly. "Subtle comedy wasn't my thing. The Three Stooges, that was my thing...

Once upon a time Sam Raimi wasn't the boring, franchise-friendly director on display in those anemic "Spiderman" movies. No, Raimi started out as a wild man of excess; his debut film, 1984's "The Evil Dead," was a slavering undead movie that went far, far beyond all previous limits of taste or imagination. Having hit us with one of the most disturbing and terrifying films ever made, Raimi followed it up with the even crazier "Evil Dead 2...
