To be saved must imply there's something that is dangerous, of which we are saved from. Now man is a credulous animal and desires belief in something. Why so, you ask. It's because God gave us a measure of faith says Romans 12:3. Everyone has a belief system whether it's correctly based on the word of God or their own. There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death-Proverbs 14:2. Everyone tries to fill their spiritual void with something greater than themselves. Just as in the natural world when one hungers, they must eat. One can ... Read Full Story

No baptism, no matter the method used, is effective without your faith states Hebrews 4:2, Mark 16:16, and Jemes 2:19-26. Many churches use a trinity type of name (A non biblical tradition that stems back to Justin Martyr 90-165 AD, who altered the wording) called over the person being baptized, and often they are sprinkled with water instead of overwhelmed in a liquid (As by definition baptism or "Baptizo", means to overwhelm or dip in water). The Bible is the most ancient and historically substantiated declaration anywhere about God. There is no greater authority from antiquity on this subject. The Bible is and should be the textbook of choice for anyone seeking to know God. All the world's religions claim to know Him. No religion, however, can prove their God more perfectly than the God of the Bible. Outside the context of the Bible, men have ascribed pathetic titles to God. "Divine Providence", "the Universal Consciousness", "The Force", or "the Man Upstairs" are dead give-aways that the speaker does not know Him at all. The True and Living God is ... Read Full Story

America sucks. When I was a kid, many moons ago, I'd look forward to the 4th of July for months, almost like Christmas. Today, some 40 years later, I see no reason to celebrate. The whole foundation of "independence day" has deteriorated into "just a god damned piece of paper". The day's when I could feel secure in my home, gone, and I aint talking about "crime" per say, I'm talking about our own government funded homegrown terrorists. I don't...

This is the inaugural article for a new column in this weekly Religion section, entitled, “Thy Word is Truth” (cf. John 17:17). It is based upon the conviction that God’s Word, the Bible, is objective Truth and that Jesus Christ is the embodiment of Truth (John 14:6).

The apostle uses the perfect tense and says,Who hath saved us.Believers in Christ Jesus are saved. They are not looked upon as persons who are in a hopeful state, and may ultimately be saved, but they are already saved. Salvation is not a blessing to be enjoyed upon the dying bed, and to be sung of in a future state above, but a matter to be obtained, received, promised, and enjoyed now. The Christian is perfectly saved in God's purpose; God...

We may wonder how God can judge those who haven’t heard the good news about Jesus Christ. We may wonder how he can judge when people don’t have Bibles, or pastors, or churches — when they may not even have people setting good examples around them… But the Bible tells us in 1 John 4:8 that God is...
