In spring 2007 Melanie released her fourth album, This Time. It features writing collaborations with Adam Argyle, Peter-John Vettese, Guy Chambers and Cathy Dennis (amongst others). The first single release from the project was the international single "The Moment You Believe", primarily released in March in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where it was a Top 20 hit. The single peaked at #1 in Spain for two weeks. In Britain, Chisholm released the track "I Want Candy" on March 26th which peaked at #24 and featured on the soundtrack to the movie of the same name. This single also peaked at #9 in Italy and Denmark. The second international single from the album This Time is "Carolyna", which was released on June 18 in the UK and across Europe.
This Time was released on March 30, 2007 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. On April 2 it's released in United Kingdom. The album features the singles "I Want Candy" and "The Moment You Believe" and present single "Carolyna".
This Time was written and recorded through-out the second half of 2006 and early 2007 and released on Chisholm's own record label, Red Girl Records. It features writing collaborations with Adam Argyle, Peter-John Vettese, Guy Chambers and Cathy Dennis (amongst others). It also features production credits from Guy Chambers, Richard Flack, Robin Barter and Joel Edwards (of Deepest Blue).
The album didn't enjoy of success due to the lack of promotion for the album. The album failed to make impact in the United Kingdom, peaking at #57 and dropping out the Top 75 at the next week. In main Europe, the album was a commercial failure due to the same problem: the lack of promotion. Only in Switzerland had success, charting at #8 and being certified as Gold.
