Thousands of Spectators were on hand to witness the event and this included several boatloads of people who journeyed across from Charlestown. Owner of the racing facility, Mr. Arthur Sharpe was extremely pleased with the turn out, and the exhibition races held the previous Sunday, also attracted similar crowds.
