Shareholders of an ill-fated Stan Lee business are suing for more than $750 million in profits from films and other works based on classic Marvel comic characters such as SPIDER-MAN , X-MEN and IRON MAN . The lawsuit was filed this past Monday in a Manhattan federal court on behalf of the shareholders of Stan Lee Media Inc. The defendants include Stan Lee, his wife, New York-based Marvel Entertainment Inc, and former Marvel chief executive officer Avi Arad. JUST as superhero fans were getting over the Warner Bros versus Fox battle over Watchmen, another row over rights has started. Stan Lee, the creator of many of Marvel's classic comic book characters, is being sued in a $750million (£528million) lawsuit by a company which claims they own the rights to a string of superheroes. For someone about to turn 87 (Dec. 28), Stan Lee sure gets around. Not that this is news to anyone who’s been to a Comic-Con in the past decade or watches talk shows with any degree of regularity. From what we can gather, the only thing Lee loves more than adding exclamation points to his comics is appearing on-screen.
