Mesukh Vuhlkansu Panu T'Spock - Spock's World Vulcan Translation Part One (Diane Duane, translated by T'Laina)

By vibrantoxymoron on  From vibrant-oxymoron.blogspot.com
Diane Duane's novel, "Spock's World", is one of my all-time favorites. Not only it a great story involving Spock, Sarek, and Amanda (and the rest of the Enterprise crew), but through alternating chapters the reader also gains insight into Vulcan history - from the planet's conception to the life of Surak. I highly recommend this novel to anyone, and everyone. I have actually made a point to buy copies of this novel for a few of my friends, and I would suggest reading it yourself - even if you...Read Full Story

T'El'esong T'Sochyaong k'T'Vet heh T'Mol-kom

By vibrantoxymoron on  From vibrant-oxymoron.blogspot.com
You may recall that in June of 2011 I got a couple of mice that I named T'Vet (Of Doubt) and T'Mol-kom (Of Serenity). T'Mol-kom is getting rather old these days, and has a couple of health problems. I ended up getting two more mice the other day because a) they were going to be fed to snakes otherwise, and b) T'Vet would be absolutely lost without T'Mol-kom if anything were to happen to her as she had no other mice at the time. It goes without saying (but I will say it anyway) that I gave...Read Full Story

Hollywood Walk of Fame Trading Cards - Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner 1991

By vibrantoxymoron on  From vibrant-oxymoron.blogspot.com
It is Christmas. I sit here wrapped in a soft new blanket drinking eggnog, eating Ferrero Rocher, and admiring one of my gifts - two Hollywood Walk of Fame trading cards (mint!) from my sister, ordered off ebay. They are the most beautiful trading cards I have ever seen, and they will never leave their protective slips. Leonard Nimoy's card has a publicity photo from "The Sun Also Rises" on the front: And some interesting information on the back, including his birthday, the location of  his...Read Full Story

The Vulcan Anthem, Translated and Sung by T'Laina

By vibrantoxymoron on  From vibrant-oxymoron.blogspot.com
This is somewhat in response to a post on the Star Trek Sci Fi blog HERE , where "Spacerguy" introduced to me the "Vulcan Anthem": The lyrics are shown on the video. I did not quite understand at first why they mention "Koon-ut Ka-li-fee" (marriage act of challenge) within the anthem, but I suppose it is a tradition passed down from the times before Surak and is therefore an important part of Vulcan culture as a whole. The anthem would have been created only for Vulcan, without any thought...Read Full Story

Playmates The Keeper from Talos IV and Bele from Cheron

By vibrantoxymoron on  From vibrant-oxymoron.blogspot.com
While rummaging through the boxes at Comic Con in October, I found two more Playmates Figures (Aside from Spock ad Pike, shown here ). I took some photos so that you, the readers, may see the wonderful details. One of my favorite characters (I have many) has always been The Keeper from Talos IV, a Talosian as seen in the first pilot episode "The Cage". Because of this, I was extremely excited when I found a Playmates Serialized Warp Factor Series 5 Talosian from 1998. It is obvious that this...Read Full Story

It’s Star Trek Versus Star Wars Again, But This Time, It’s the Next Generation [Video]

By puertoriquez on  From themarysue.com
The battle of Star Wars Vs. Trek rages on, but it’s not original cast members Carrie Fisher and William Shatner throwing barbs this time. It’s action figures. BBC TV host Graham Norton had Liam Neeson (who played Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace ) and Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard of Star Trek: The Next Generation ) on his show, and thought it might be fun to have their respective action figures settle the score. And then he brought out both figures, and it...Read Full Story

Playmates Mr. Spock and Captain Christopher Pike

By vibrantoxymoron on  From vibrant-oxymoron.blogspot.com
While I was at Comic Con, I came across a table that was selling Playmates figures - four for twenty dollars. After running around trying to find an ATM, I was finally able to get the very four that I had wanted. I took pictures of two of them tonight, and will post the other two on the morrow. The first one I picked was Captain Christopher Pike, from the 1996 Playmates Federation Edition Star Trek Collector Series. The figure also came with a "Starfleet hand laser ", communicator, Tricorder...Read Full Story
