Product Description Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, 2004 release, SINGLE DISC FROM TRILOGY Amazon.com The 2006 limited-edition two-disc release of George Lucas’s epic space fantasy Star Wars is not only the first time the movie has been officially available by itself on DVD. It marks the first-ever DVD release of Star Wars as it originally played in theaters in 1977. What does that mean exactly? Well, for starters, the initial title crawl proclaims that this is just Star Wars , not Episode IV, A New Hope . Second, the film is without the various “improvements” and enhancements Lucas added for the theatrical ... Read Full Story

This movie got good reviews, right? I mean, I know Episode I got good reviews, but this one did too, right? I suppose the CG is better than before–except for Yoda, who’s desperate for a good puppeteer–and the action sequences are a tad more engaging. The space battles, mostly. The actual lightsaber fight scenes are terrible. Lucas never establishes what makes a good… lightsaber-er. I mean, does one have to be a strong Jedi to do it or can a mediocre Jedi simply be good at it? The lightsaber fights aren’t much fun because it’s impossible to tell if the person winning is overcoming ... Read Full Story

by Pat Christmas is coming, and it's time to think about everyone. From the sports fan in the family to the hard core Star Wars fanatic. Or both. For the bounty hunters among us, there's the Boba Fett "Assassins" jersey, as modeled above by ... Read Full Story

This is a review of the motion picture score Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith by John Williams . “A bummer for sure, but one of the few bummers I sincerely enjoy listening to.” Star Wars scores come with high standards (duh). Neither The Phantom Menace nor Attack of the Clones have fulfilled them all, but both are great additions and have boasted a number of quality thematic additions to the saga. But when those lofty heights aren’t reached it is important to point out why, even if the score is still strong. So when I spend the next two paragraphs pointing ... Read Full Story

There has been a steady trickle of details about Star Wars: The Old Republic coming from the official site, and the latest class to receive the "HoloNet" treatment is the Jedi Knight, which is bound to be a favorite. Know thy Jedi Guardian reports on Tesco's cocky PR response to a man that called religious discrimination on them for asking him, both the founder of the Jedi church and a follower of the Jedi religion, to remove his hood.
