Product Description Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, 2004 release, SINGLE DISC FROM TRILOGY Amazon.com The 2006 limited-edition two-disc release of George Lucas’s epic space fantasy Star Wars is not only the first time the movie has been officially available by itself on DVD. It marks the first-ever DVD release of Star Wars as it originally played in theaters in 1977. What does that mean exactly? Well, for starters, the initial title crawl proclaims that this is just Star Wars , not Episode IV, A New Hope . Second, the film is without the various “improvements” and enhancements Lucas added for the theatrical ... Read Full Story

Here is a list of my favorite books offered by Dark Horse. Clone Wars ... Read Full Story

This movie got good reviews, right? I mean, I know Episode I got good reviews, but this one did too, right? I suppose the CG is better than before–except for Yoda, who’s desperate for a good puppeteer–and the action sequences are a tad more engaging. The space battles, mostly. The actual lightsaber fight scenes are terrible. Lucas never establishes what makes a good… lightsaber-er. I mean, does one have to be a strong Jedi to do it or can a mediocre Jedi simply be good at it? The lightsaber fights aren’t much fun because it’s impossible to tell if the person winning is overcoming ... Read Full Story

Darth Vader is one of the coolest --and coolest-looking-- characters in science fiction, yet much of his appearance was the result of nothing more than practicality. At least that's how Ralph McQuarrie, the legendary conceptual designer of George Lucas' original Star Wars films, remembers the evolution of the Sith's darkest Dark Lord

Filed under: App Store, App ReviewSimply put: Star Wars: Trench Run [iTunes link] is awesome. The idea is fairly simple: you are re-enacting the final battle scene from the first Star Wars movie, and if you think that refers to The Phantom Menace, may God have mercy on your soul. There's a dogfight, with you in your X-Wing versus several Tie Fighters. That's followed by your descent into the trench on the Death Star where you face off against...
