Today Blizzard updated the official StarCraft II website with a slew of single-player and multiplayer screenshots from StarCraft II. There are also a couple character pictures, including one scientist who resembles everyone's favorite moose-hunting politician.

If you had some shred of hope that the StarCraft II beta would arrive this year after being delayed from this summer -- it's not happening. During a presentation at Russian games expo IgroMir, StarCraft II producer Chris Sigaty made it known that the game's multiplayer beta has been pushed back to 2010.

Where's that beta, Blizzard?
Blizzard has reassured investors that StarCraft II is on track to launch in the first half of 2010 - or, to be more specific, the second quarter. That means we should get our hands on it some time between the start of March and end of June.
