Starbucks

Many people would find it hard to imagine that Starbucks Corp. (SBUX) has fallen from a 52-week high of $40.01 to a lowly current trading price of $25.99. I find it hard to believe myself considering revenue increased 19.6% in Q2 FY07 compared to Q2 FY06. Furthermore, SBUX has increased its unit expansion target from 30,000 to 40,000, half of which will be abroad. FY07 guidance is also very optimistic as management expects net revenue growth of approximately 20% and expects EPS growth to increase between 19% and 20% from FY06. Well, I haven't blogged in a day or so, so I guess I'd better catch myself up. I work part time at Starbucks, and I just want to know WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO BE SO MEAN? I mean, just because we work for starbucks and make your coffee, doesn't give anyone the right to 1. talk down to us, 2. treat us as though we are idiots and 3. act like we are your own personal slaves - just because you order a $5 drink doesn't mean you deserve service fit for a King or Queen!!!! So it seems that Starbucks , the U.S. brewing behemoth, has decided to hawk an upscale version of Folger's Crystals (currently gathering dust at the back of your out-of-touch nattering Nana's pantry), but don't you dare display your displeasure whilst within the immediate vicinity of one of their brainwashed baristas, or be prepared for a barrage of inane talking points and propaganda rivaling Liz Cheney's blind backing of enhanced interrogation techniques . This despite posting its first profit losses since 1992 in July.  Vote No on undecided voters! Recently I was out running around doing my errands and on occasion I like to stop by Starbucks when I am finished to indulge myself with the decadence that only Starbucks coffee can offer.  Afterward I picked up my brother so we could go to dinner together.  When he got in my car he noticed the Starbucks coffee cup and preceded to tell me something that just could have sent me into a deep depression (not really) but I would have been heart broken to say the least.
