I spent some time this weekend clipping images for my journal. All of them came from the latest Brecks catalog. My six year old daughter decided that she wanted some images for her journal as well so we clipped and we pasted until we were satisfied . One of the images that I had chosen for today's journal page was of the ' Satisfaction ' Lily shown below. It got me to thinking on the subject of being satisfied . Some synonyms for the word are, enjoyment, pleasure or comfort . One definition of satisfaction is the state of being content . Another is ... Read Full Story

I asked Princess to clean up the mess from all the boxes of school books we had just unpacked. These pictures show the results of her "cleaning". She took all the boxes and hooked them together to form a train. It took her quite some time to get them all latched securely. The outdoors can teach our children a lot about God's creation. Sometimes, I will follow up with a search online to answer any questions or to explore a snake they have a question about or I read books ... Read Full Story

Having the same thing all the time gets to be a bit boring and trying to provide something healthy they'll eat is a challenge. I don't like to give the kids suger cereal like Froot Loops or Corn Pops for breakfast, but as a snack during the day makes for a treat with some nutrition. At least better than candy! I will admit these cereals don't have a lot of nutrition packed into them, but some is better than none. I will empty a box ... Read Full Story

The noisy boys love crafts. Love them. Save bits of garbage for a few weeks (milk bottle caps, paper towel tubes, OJ lids), give them to my boys, and watch their eyes light up. Seriously. Last night was Open House at the boys’ school. We visited each of their classrooms, took a picture with their teachers, and saw more of what they’re doing in class. One of the projects they were most proud of were these marshmallow sculptures made out of miniature marshmallows and toothpicks. “Hey! I could do that!” I thought, always looking for a constructive way to keep the noisy boys occupied ... Read Full Story
